GERALDINE STUTZ (1924-2005) was President of GSG Group, a New York consulting company for fashion and retail marketing. A former President and Managing Partner of Henri Bendel, where under her leadership, Bendel's moved from failure to financial success, Ms. Stutz had long been a leading figure in the worlds of style and merchandising. She also had an on-going involvement with the arts and arts institutions. Ms. Stutz began her career as a runway model, fashion editor and columnist at Glamour. Ms. Stutz is best known for her 29-year career at Henri Bendel, with a legendary eye for discovering the newest designers and using them first, installing their collections in elaborately merchandised departments that heralded the introduction of new generation of fashion stars - Stephen Burrows, Perry Ellis, Jean Muir, Sonia Rykiel, Carlos Falchi, Mary McFadden, Holly Harp and Ralph Lauren among them. In 1985, after Bendel's was sold, she moved to Random House, where, until 1993, she was Publisher of Panache Press. The corporate boards on which Ms. Stutz served include Hanover Direct, Incorporated; Jones Apparel Group; and Tiffany & Co. She was a member of the Board of Trustees of Theatre Development Fund for 20 years, from 1982-2002.
